ACCF Giving Spree

Adams County Community Foundation Giving Spree

Connecting donors to groups and organizations that match their charitable interest is an important role of the Adams County Community Foundation.  One of the ways we help facilitate that connection is through our annual Giving Spree.

Held each November, the Giving Spree provides an opportunity for anyone to meet with and support scores of local nonprofits.

In 2017, the Giving Spree featured seventy-one Adams County nonprofits for donors to explore. The excitement of the day produced the most successful Spree event to date with 599 donors giving $565,145!

Donors could make their contributions throughout the day, going online for giving through the Community Foundation’s website or attending a special reception for giving; however, the best experience is attending the Giving Spree event held at Gettysburg Area Middle School.  Staff and board members of the organizations were on hand to answer questions and provide updates on goals and projects and to explain how a gift would make an impact.

Every donation was returned to support the efforts of those seventy-one nonprofits with an additional $35,690 provided in matching funds. Those matching funds included special Giving Spree “Coins” given to each person who walked in the door. Attendees could drop their coin, in one organization’s “piggy bank” resulting in an additional $10 gift to that organization.
