Adams County Community Foundation Giving Spree
For 16 years, the Adams County Community Foundation Giving Spree has been Adams County’s day of giving: when everyone comes together to learn about local nonprofits and give them a financial boost. In recent years the amazing generosity of Adams Countians has made our Giving Spree one of America’s largest per capita giving days!
The Giving Spree makes it easy for you to give to multiple nonprofits with one gift by check, credit card, securities, or even a qualified charitable distribution from your IRA. You decide how each gift you make will be used by the nonprofits you support with a checkbox on the Donation Form. Check “today” and your gift goes directly to the organization for its immediate use. Check “forever” and your gift will be added to your favorite nonprofit’s endowment, which then provides an annual grant to the nonprofit for years and decades to come.
The Community Foundation operates the Giving Spree as a gift to Adams County: no fees are charged to participating nonprofits and there is no fee taken from donations. And we also provide an incentive match to boost donor gifts even further and provide a separate prize pool for nonprofits that engage “forever” (endowment) donors.
Each year scores of nonprofits apply to be in the Giving Spree, but we can only accept 100 local nonprofits. Participation is not automatic and an application is required. See the timeline below for application and deadlines.

- April 24, 2026 – Each year scores of nonprofits apply to be in the Giving Spree. Participation is not automatic. Click here for the nonprofit application
- June 23, 2026 – Giving Spree Nonprofit Application Closes
- July 10, 2026 – Participating Nonprofits Announced
- July 15, 2026 – Sponsorship Commitment Deadline
- July 16, 2026 – Nonprofit Kickoff: 1:00 p.m. Adams County Historical Society 625 Biglerville Rd, Gettysburg
- August 5, 2026 – Monthly Nonprofit Zoom Check-ins begin
- November 5, 2026 – Giving Spree at the Wyndham Gettysburg 3 p.m. – 7 p.m.
- December 11, 2026 – The Big Reveal Grant Distribution
