Littlestown, PA — June 3, 2025 — The Bernard, Mary and Richard Selby Family Memorial Fund has awarded over $64,000 in grants to nonprofits serving Littlestown. Established by the late Dick Selby to honor his parents, Bernard and Mary Selby, and the family’s deep ties to their hometown, the Fund supports organizations that were meaningful to the Selbys, as well as initiatives that address current community need.
Since its inception in 2019, the Selby Family Memorial Fund has granted more than $314,000 to Littlestown nonprofits. Managed by the Adams County Community Foundation, the Fund is carefully invested to ensure long-term growth and lasting community impact for generations to come.
2025 Fund for Littlestown Grant Recipients
Adams County Children’s Advocacy Center – $4,250 Supports child abuse prevention education for Littlestown children through partnerships with the local library, childcare centers, and churches.
Adams County Library System – Littlestown Library – $2,500 Funds the Library of Things initiative, including new music kits and a hands-on science exploration program.
Littlestown Area Historical Society – $1,000 Supports expanded attractions for the 2025 Good Ole Days celebration.
Littlestown Area Senior Center – $3,000 Provides for a marketing campaign to raise awareness and for facility renovations.
Littlestown Youth Field Hockey Booster, Inc. – $1,000 Grant for the purchase of new equipment to support growing youth participation.
New Hope Ministries – $5,000 Supports food assistance, rent, utilities, transportation, and other basic needs for low-income Littlestown residents.
Ruth’s Harvest Littlestown – $5,000 Provides healthy weekend food packages and clothing essentials to income-eligible K–8 students.
Servants, Inc. – $5,000 Supports critical home repair projects for low-income homeowners, including seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities.
Thunderbolt Foundation – $8,000 – Toward the naming of Littlestown High School’s lobby in honor of the Selby family.
Thunderbolt Foundation – $4,000 Supports Littlestown children’s enrollment in the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, a free book program for children from birth to age five.
